Apple Intelligence Slated for Vision Pro Headset, Says Report
According to sources familiar with the matter, Apple is actively developing plans to integrate Apple Intelligence features into its Vision Pro headset, expanding beyond initial promises for Mac, iPhone, and iPad devices, reports Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and his Sunday PowerOn newsletter. The rollout is not expected to occur this year, but is planned for the future.
The Vision Pro comes with 16GB of RAM and is deemed capable of supporting Apple Intelligence features such as notification prioritization, writing tools, an OpenAI chatbot, and the new Siri. This aligns well with Apple’s strategy of positioning the Vision Pro as a tool for productivity and computing tasks.
The transition to incorporate these features is anticipated to be straightforward, as visionOS shares similarities with iPadOS. However, the primary challenge lies in adapting the user interface for optimal functionality in a mixed-reality environment.
Additionally, there are considerations about the impact on Apple’s cloud-computing infrastructure, as expanded AI functionalities could strain server capacities. However, given the Vision Pro’s limited market penetration thus far, concerns about server load are minimal.
Vision Pro pre-orders went live last week for Canada ahead of the June 28 release, with pricing starting from a gut-wrenching $4,999 CAD before taxes and extras. An informal poll we asked about Vision Pro pre-orders saw 92.5% of votes say “no” when asked if they ordered a headset.

Apple has some updates for Vision Pro, such as a “Go Deeper” option for customers interested in seeking specific device functionalities like office-work features and video capabilities. Also, the default headset band during demos has been switched from the Solo Loop to the Dual Loop, addressing comfort concerns expressed by potential buyers.
