SaskTel has announced the launch of a new service aimed at protecting its Internet customers from cyber threats.

Digital Security by SaskTel, powered by F-Secure, is an all-in-one application providing security, privacy, and identity protection across desktops, phones, and tablets.

“Building safer communities is a top priority for our government and key part of our overall vision of creating a stronger province and more prosperous future for all residents,” said Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel, in an issued statement. “This new offering from SaskTel supports our government’s vision and is a step in the right direction toward enhancing online safety for Saskatchewan residents of all ages.”

“As an Internet service provider, we recognize that bad actors are continuously evolving their tactics and creating more sophisticated scams that are harder for users to identify. Our new digital security service provides customers with an additional layer of protection that will help keep them and their families safe while they’re online at home or on the go,” added Charlene Gavel, SaskTel President and CEO.

This new service is powered by F-Secure, a leader in the cybersecurity industry. The all-in-one application provides security and privacy on desktops, phones, and tablets, ensuring users have an encrypted VPN connection to stop hackers and allow secure browsing on public Wi-Fi networks. The service offers an extra layer of security for shopping and banking, blocking malicious websites from collecting personal information.

The identity protection feature provides instant alerts if personal information is exposed in a data breach, with 24/7 dark web monitoring. Virus and threat protection are also included, keeping devices safe from viruses, trojans, spyware, and ransomware through award-winning antivirus protection.

The service includes a password vault for creating and securely storing strong passwords, accessible on any device. Parental controls are also available, enabling the blocking of inappropriate online content, monitoring of daily screen time, and setting of digital boundaries.

Once you sight up for the digital security service, you’ll get a welcome email with your temporary password, plus a link to install the app on your devices.

Digital Security by SaskTel is now available for infiNET or interNET customers. Windows and Mac F-Secure apps are now available but iOS and Android apps are “coming soon”.
