Samsung Slammed for Copying Apple Watch Ultra, AirPods

Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event has sparked controversy, with many accusing Samsung of blatantly copying Apple’s product designs, including the Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods.

Samsung Clones

Quinn Nelson, a popular YouTuber from Snazzy Labs, expressed his discontent on social media, stating, “Today was a huge L for Samsung. Watch Ultra is the most shameless copy of an Apple product in ages — and it’s hideous.”

Nelson didn’t stop there. He continued his critique on his X account, @SnazzyLabs, saying, “Wait, it gets more shameless. Buds3 and Buds3 Pro are clones of AirPods.”

His comments pointed directly at Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatch and the Galaxy Buds 3 series, which, as shown above, are eerily similar to the Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods.

Similarly The Apple Hub account, with nearly one million followers, shared side-by-side images of Samsung’s new smartwatch and earbuds compared to Apple’s versions, captioning it simply, “Copy and paste.”

Major news outlets also joined the chorus of criticism. Business Insider’s headline bluntly read, “Samsung’s new ‘Ultra’ watch and earbuds are shameless Apple copycats,” while The Verge’s article titled, “Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds are blatant AirPod clones in both form and function,” condemned Samsung for mimicking Apple’s in-ear design and stems.

Andrew O’Hara from Apple Insider voiced his disappointment on X, saying, “To see Samsung just release a bunch of Apple clones is disheartening. It’s boring and a massive fail compared to where Samsung used to be.”

While competition in the tech industry often leads to similar features and advancements, the accusations against Samsung suggest that the company’s latest products have once again crossed the line from inspiration to blatant imitation.

Blatant and shameless.

I remember when the diehard Samsung/android boys would try to say Samsung wasn’t mostly a photocopier company. They don’t say that as much anymore.

Guess they’ll also have to admit circles are the not the optimal shape for a smart watch, or any display of most digital content.
