You Can Now Buy Apple Vision Pro in Canada for Just $4,999

Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality headset has finally launched in Canada, starting at just $4,999.
Pre-orders for the device launched back on June 28, and as of today, you can buy it officially from Apple.ca or an Apple Store.
“Apple Vision Pro is here. Welcome to the era of spatial computing,” explained an email sent by Apple to customers.
Is the $5,000 starting price holding you down? No problem, because Apple says you can finance the headset at 7.99% APR for 24 months, which works out to $226.06 per month. Who needs to pay rent, mortgage or groceries when you could be wearing an Apple Vision Pro in the shower while crying in the fetal position (not recommended, but highly suggested; it’s not waterproof btw)?
Apple says demos are available at Apple Stores along with guided tours. You can click here to book your demo online.

$3999 too much, lol
This is definitely $4,999 more than I'm willing to spend, but having sat through the demo this morning, I can honestly say the experience justifies its price tag. The Vision Pro is head and shoulders above other AR/VR experiences, but it's also far more than most people need. This is a proof-of-concept device, more than anything else, but since Apple has learned not to waste our time with "imaginary futuristic bullshit" concept videos, it's produced a real product that it's happy to make available for folks with deep pockets to buy. The rest of us should wait for the "Vision" to arrive a year or two from now.
That said, if somebody gave me $5K and told me I had to use it to buy ONE Apple product, this would be the best way to spend the money. A $5,000 MacBook Pro or even a top-of-the-line M4 iPad Pro are a similar level of overkill for most folks, but at least those have more affordable versions, and the Vision Pro does things that those can't.
I think their goal is to get apps and such developed for it now, and in the long term as the tech is able to be miniaturized and less costly it will begin to really take off. But I think it will be a long arc.
Read an article elsewhere that says the development of apps for the device has plummeted since its initial release.
I suspect it'll eventually be relegated to the gamers' marketplace and those hardcore basement-dwelling Macolytes who enjoy such things.
Who wants to walk around the office – or their home – with a goofy headset on? Vision Pro might be an impressive piece of hardware, but it has very limited use cases and it’s not even comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Besides, I already have an Apple product I use at home in a similar way: it’s called the iPad. It cost 1/10 the price of Vision Pro and I can use it while my family is in the room with me.
I'd pay $199 for it, max. Absolutely unacceptable pricing.
The price is certainly iWatering

"Just"? 😆😆😆😆😆
PT Barnum School of Retail Sales – including, it seems, to those reporting on such matters.
“Just” …hahahahahaha ok.
No one that's prepared to spend $5000 is going to buy the base 256GB model – they'll spend $5300 to at least match the 512GB Quest 3. And you don't want to skip AppleCare on this one with its glass front – so tack on another $700 for a more realistic $6000 baseline purchase. THEN, you can start adding lenses if you wear glasses, spare battery packs, cases and what have you. The $5000 quoted everywhere is for the model YouTubers buy, review and return. Otherwise it's realistically a $6000 and up device.
