Dyson has launched new OnTrac hi-fi headphones today which are not only customizable on the outside, but feature Active Noise Cancellation and more.

The OnTrac headphones, according to Dyson, feature “best-in-class” ANC, with noise cancelled 384,000 times per second, reducing ambient noise levels by up to 40dB, leveraging 8 microphones. You can track this in real-time within the Dyson app.

Equipped with 40mm neodymium speaker drivers and advanced audio signal processing, the OnTrac headphones deliver a frequency range from 6Hz to 21kHz, offering deep bass and crystal-clear highs.

Dyson OnTrac has 55 hours of listening time on a single charge with ANC enabled. There are multi-pivot gimbal arms and battery cells are placed in the headband for balanced weight distribution. The customizable ear cushions are made with microfiber and high-grade foam, while you can also pick custom outer caps of your choosing, resulting in over 2,000 possible combinations.

“Dyson’s audio engineering mission is to preserve the integrity of the artist’s sound wave, free from interference. We also wanted to create a set of headphones that people would cherish, be excited by, and be proud of. With over 30 years of experience in aeroacoustics, we’ve mastered sound physics. By reducing noise through in-house anechoic chambers and expert engineers, we’ve applied and further expanded our audio knowledge to develop the Dyson OnTrac headphones. Our first over-ear audio-only headphones deliver best-in-class ANC, exceptional sound quality, and all-day comfort,” said Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer at Dyson, in a statement to iPhone in Canada.

Dyson OnTrac headphones are priced at a premium $699.99 CAD and can be ordered today with four colourways including CNC aluminum, copper, nickel and ceramic cinnabar. These headphones join the Dyson Zone launched last fall.

I am not sure how appealing is the Dyson brand to many people. I can imagine the conversation to go something like "Cool headphones, what's the brand?"…"Dyson".."Oh, like the vaccum cleaner?"..haha
