Telus and Bell Increase Select 5G Plans by $5/month
Let the Telus plan pricing musical chairs continue, folks. Earlier this month, Telus lowered the price of all 5G+ unlimited plans, but now its basic 5G plans have increased in price by $5/month.
The company’s 5G 75GB plans have increased by $5 per month.
Check out the changes below:
- $35 talk and text
- $70/75GB (new activations only; was $65) – 5G Essential Unlimited 75
- $75/75GB (new activations and renewals; was $70) – 5G Essential Unlimited 75
- $80/150GB – 5G+ Premium Unlimited
- $95/200GB Canada-US talk/text/data – 5G+ Premium Unlimited Canada-US
- $110/200GB Canada-US-Mexico – 5G+ Premium Unlimited Canada-US-Mexico
Bell has made a similar move for its 75GB 5G plan (new phone plan, not BYOD) recently, increasing it to $75, up from $70 per month.

As for Rogers, it charges $65 for its 75GB 5G plan for bring your own device customers. Its $75 plan for ‘finance your device’ includes 100GB of data.

As Canadians see less and less value out of premium cellular options such as “5G”, cell carriers respond by continuing to raise the prices of such offerings.
We’re lucky to have Freedom (for now) to at least keep the bottom end of the market in line.
Imagine paying double the price you should be paying for a 5G plan… and then getting dings by a daily rate on top just to use the data you’re already paying for in another country.
And then paying extra for the privilege of using your Watch and tablet on the same plan.
Insanity.
I just activated with PC Mobile. $29/25GB with 5G, the pdf contract PCMobile sent me has Bell sprinkled all through out the contract. Have no idea why anyone would sign up with Bell rather than PC Mobile and get the same coverage.
