Amazon Canada has announced it is rolling out faster Same-Day Delivery options for Prime members in select regions across Canada. Same-Day deliveries are expected to arrive as early as seven hours after being placed.
The company states that Prime members in the Greater Toronto Area, Southwestern Ontario and Metro Vancouver are receiving the new benefit. After placing the order, Prime members can expect faster shipments to be delivered. On top of that, members within these areas will have access to a new overnight delivery option.
Amazon Canada states that orders placed by midnight will arrive “by the next morning.” This assures that last-minute needs or forgotten orders can be placed before bed and will arrive shortly thereafter. The new overnight delivery method allows customers to choose delivery windows between 4 am to 8 am or 7 am to 11 am.
To take advantage of the new faster Same-Day Delivery options, Prime members can select eligible items. An easy way to do so is by choosing ‘Today by’ or ‘Overnight by 8 am’ on the search panel. Popular items include pet products, cleaning essentials, and personal care items. Brands highlighted by Amazon Prime include Reebok, Adidas, Mattel, LEGO, and Ninja.
Amazon Canada states that the company sees more than five billion items arrive the same or the next day globally. According to the company, this is an increase of more than 30 percent year-over-year.
In Canada, a monthly subscription to Amazon Prime costs $9.99. However, the company also offers a $99 annual subscription. Student pricing is also available at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year for those enrolled in university, college, or CEGEP programs.
