Google Launches All-New Nest Thermostat in Canada

Google has announced the release of its latest Nest Thermostat, the fourth-generation model, available for pre-order today at $379.99 in Canada.
The new thermostat includes one Nest Temperature Sensor (to manage hot and cold spots in your home) and is available for pre-order in Polished Silver, Obsidian, and Gold. The new generation is Matter-certified. The design includes a borderless crystal lens display.
The fourth generation Nest Thermostat is designed to be the smartest and most advanced yet, featuring several improvements aimed at enhancing energy savings and user comfort, says Google. The included temperature sensor has also been redesigned–check it out below:
“The schedule that programs itself,” states Google, emphasizing the thermostat’s ability to adapt to users’ habits and preferences. The device also supports smart ventilation, which brings in fresh air when air quality is optimal and the temperature is mild, thereby saving energy. Google says “Advanced AI” will automatically make adjustments to your system.
This model is compatible with the most HVAC systems, and its System Health Monitor helps ensure the heating and cooling system operates smoothly. It can send alerts if any issues are detected.
Installation is straightforward, allowing users to set up the device themselves. This time around, there’s a new 12-terminal backplate to work with most HVAC systems. The thermostat can be controlled via the Google Home app, providing easy access to adjust settings and monitor performance.
The Nest Thermostat’s design has a new Dynamic Farsight that lets you customize the screen to show temperature, a clock and more. The design is slimmer and looks far more elegant than its previous designs.
The fourth generation Nest Thermostat will launch on August 20, 2024. Older Nest Thermostats are on sale for $248 on Amazon.ca right now, at 24% off.

380$???? Does it give you all kinds of…other pleasures for that money? It's a frikkin thermostat ffs.
Yeah the screen doesn't even stay on like even a cheap thermostat can do. Can't even see the temp on that big screen without having to go up to it to wake the screen. No thanks.
