Apple Maps on the Web Adds Firefox, Mac Edge Support
Just weeks after introducing a beta version of its Maps web interface, Apple has added support for Firefox and Microsoft Edge on Mac and iPad, as noted by 9to5Mac.

Apple Maps on the web initially supported only Safari, Chrome, and Edge for PC, while promising support for additional languages, browsers, and platforms coming over time.
True to its word, Apple has quickly followed through with the first major updates. Firefox users can now seamlessly browse Apple Maps on Mac, PC, or iPad, adding a new layer of flexibility for those who prefer Mozilla’s popular browser.
Additionally, Mac users who rely on Microsoft Edge now have access to the Apple Maps web interface, marking a noteworthy change from the previous limitation of Edge support to PC users only. This means that Apple Maps is now more accessible to a broader range of users, offering an alternative to those who do not exclusively use Safari or Chrome.
Despite the expanded browser compatibility, Apple Maps on the web still does not support iPhone browsers, including Firefox and Edge. Apple’s rationale is likely rooted in the assumption that iPhone users will naturally gravitate towards the native Maps app, which is optimized for mobile use.
However, the growing support for different browsers on the web version of Apple Maps could be a hint at future plans.

While Apple has yet to enable mobile browser compatibility for Maps, this expansion could eventually lead to support for Android devices, though such a development remains speculative at this point.
The ability to access Apple Maps through Firefox and Edge on various Apple devices provides a more integrated experience, allowing users to choose the browser that best suits their needs without sacrificing access to Apple’s mapping service.
