Age of Empires Mobile Launching October 17 on iOS and Android

Age of Empires Mobile has been given a release date of October 17th for iOS and Android. The co-developed game from TiMi Studio Group and Xbox Games Studios’ World’s Edge brings the iconic strategy franchise to mobile devices.

The game has been given a release date ahead of Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. As players attending will have an opportunity to go hands-on with Age of Empires Mobile at the Xbox booth, the development is celebrating with a new ‘Launch Date Announcement’ trailer, which you can see below.

Age of Empires Mobile is built from the ground up, adapting many of the core gameplay philosophies from the series and bringing it to mobile. The game is confirmed to support multiple single-player modes “built on the Age of Empires lineage” and feature iconic elements from the series.

In Age of Empires Mobile, players can build and support their own empire. Their medical worlds will be expansive with civilizations, imperial cities, and more. Engage in battles with original gameplay on a large scale. There is also 1v1 PCP battle support with pre-battle features that are not typically found in Age of Empires on PC and Xbox.

“Our goal at World’s Edge is to bring the magic of Age of Empires to as many different types of players around the world as possible. Partnering with TiMi Studio Group means we can combine their expertise in mobile gaming with the strength of our franchise and history – to bring a brand-new take on Age of Empires to even more gamers, in even more places,” Michael Mann, Studio Head at World’s Edge said in a press release.

Players can preregister for Age of Empires Mobile on the Apple App Store and Google Play ahead of its launch later this year. Doing so will net players in-game resources and items. Once three million players preregister, they’ll be able to access Cleopatra VII at launch.
