Apple’s Tabletop Robot: Supply Chain Leak Hints at 2026 Launch

For the first time, Apple’s rumoured tabletop robot has been identified within its global supply chain, according to a report by Taiwan’s United Daily News (via MacRumors).

Apple has reportedly chosen Hongzhun, a key player in the manufacturing sector, to be responsible for developing critical components of the robot. Hongzhun, a subsidiary of Foxconn—Apple’s long-standing manufacturing partner—will handle the production of essential mechanical parts and casings for the device.

Once the product reaches mass production, Hongzhun is expected to scale up its operations to meet global demand.

Hongzhun’s involvement in Apple’s robot project comes as the company is shifting its focus toward emerging technologies. At a recent shareholders’ meeting, Hongzhun announced plans to invest in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), signaling a departure from its traditional role in producing casings for laptops and gaming consoles.

Internally code-named J595, Apple’s tabletop robot is described as a desktop device that combines an iPad-like display with a robotic arm.
