Samsung’s Glasses-Free Odyssey 3D Monitor Debuts at Gamescom 2024
Samsung has officially unveiled its latest innovation in gaming technology, the Odyssey 3D monitor, at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany.

This groundbreaking monitor, which offers a glasses-free 3D experience, was the centerpiece of Samsung’s extensive display at the world’s largest gaming exhibition, which ran from August 21 to 25.
Leveraging advanced Light Field Display (LFD) technology, the Odyssey 3D monitor converts 2D content into lifelike 3D visuals using a lenticular lens on the front panel. Combined with Eye Tracking and View Mapping technology, the Odyssey 3D dynamically adjusts the 3D effects based on the user’s eye movements.
Unlike traditional 3D displays that require specialized glasses, the Odyssey 3D delivers a seamless and comfortable viewing experience without the need for any additional accessories. The monitor offers the flexibility to switch between 2D and 3D modes, allowing gamers to customize their experience based on their preferences.
Available in 27-inch and 37-inch sizes, the Odyssey 3D features a 4K resolution display, a rapid 1ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, and a high refresh rate of 165Hz.

The Odyssey 3D features an ergonomic Height Adjustment Stand (HAS) and tilt capabilities, allowing users to position the monitor for optimal viewing angles. The monitor is also equipped with FreeSync Premium technology to minimize screen tearing and provide a smoother gaming experience.
For connectivity, the Odyssey 3D includes one DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1 ports, making it compatible with a wide range of gaming consoles and PCs.
The monitor’s innovative design and feature set earned it the prestigious Best of Innovation award in the Gaming & eSports category at CES 2024, further cementing Samsung’s position as a leader in gaming technology.
