Instagram Now Allows Users to Add Text to Their Photo Posts

Instagram is now enabling users to add text and stickers to photos and carousels. This is a part of the platform’s latest big update.
Announced by the company via a blog post, Instagram users can begin adding text, including brand-new font types as a layer on top of images. Text can be added to standard photo posts or event carousels. The aim is to give users the “creative flexibility to make your content stand out.”
To do so, users can tap the text button after selecting a photo from their library. Instagram will not let users add text as a layer on top of the photo. Additional images can be added by tapping the gallery button on the top right of the display. Stickers can also be added, changing it from a rectangle to a circle, heart, or star shape.
As part of its latest update, Instagram is also adding new font types. On top of being accessible when posting a photo or a carousel, these new fonts, animations, and effects can all be used when drafting a reel or story. By opening up the text tool, users can select a new font and animate your text or add an effect.
Finally, Instagram carousels will now support 20 photos and videos in a single post. The method of creating a carousel is unchanged. When creating one, users will now have the option of adding a maximum of 20 photos or videos.
