“Sauron has returned,” the Season 2 description reads. “Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will.”

The Rings of Power stars Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Markella Kavenagh, Megan Richards, Owain Arthur, Sophia Nomvete, Benjamin Walker and Daniel Weyman. This season welcomes newcomers Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels and others.

J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay take the lead on developing the Prime Video series. This season of The Rings of Power is written by an eclectic cast of writers including Payne and McKay. They’re joined by Gennifer Hutchison, Jason Cahil, Helen Shang, Justin Doble, and more. Famed composer Bear McCreary returns to craft the soundscapes of the series.
