X Launches Dedicated TV App for Watching Videos on Platform
Elon Musk’s ambition to transform X into a formidable competitor to YouTube is becoming more evident with the launch of a new dedicated TV app.

This latest development in the social media platform’s ongoing evolution underscores Musk’s commitment to expanding its video capabilities and establishing X as a versatile “everything” app.
In a bid to challenge YouTube’s dominance, Musk recently reached out to prominent content creators like MrBeast, encouraging them to post full-length videos on X. Now, the introduction of the X TV app is another significant move in this direction, providing users with a dedicated platform for watching videos directly on their smart TVs.
The newly launched X TV app allows users to browse and stream videos uploaded to X, as well as access live streams directly from the platform. To use the app, users are required to sign in with their X account for a personalized viewing experience.
Before the launch of the X TV app, watching videos from X on a television screen required casting from a secondary device, such as an iPhone or Android smartphone. The new app eliminates this extra step.

While X users are accustomed to consuming videos in short bursts while scrolling through their feeds, the TV app offers a more immersive viewing experience.
It remains to be seen if users will embrace this new format or continue to prefer the casual, on-the-go video consumption that has characterized the platform thus far.
