
We are just days away from Apple’s iPhone 16 special event set for Monday, September 9, 2024.
The special event with its tagline, “It’s Glowtime,” will likely unveil the whole iPhone 16 lineup and more. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared his latest rundown of what we can expect from Apple’s special event, according to his sources.
iPhone 16 Series:
- Models: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max.
- iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: same design with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes; new faster processors and 8GB RAM (to support Apple Intelligence); new Action button and vertically stacked rear cameras for spatial video recording
- iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max: new bigger displays to 6.3 inches (Pro) and 6.9 inches (Pro Max) with slimmer bezels; improved 48MP ultrawide camera and 5x optical zoom on both models; new touch-sensitive shutter button for pictures and video, like a dSLR.
- Colours: white, new shades of green, pink and blue for iPhone 16 line; gold titanium, black, white and natural options for iPhone 16 Pro line
AirPods:
- Two New Models: AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 to get replaced; design similar to AirPods Pro with USB-C charging; mid-tier model to get active noise cancellation and high-end case with speaker.
- New Features: Hearing aid functionality and hearing test capabilities (delayed release).
- AirPods Max: New colours and USB-C upgrade; coming later
Apple Watch:
- New Models: Updated SE, Series 10, and Ultra 3.
- Series 10: Thinner case and slightly larger screen options; new sleep apnea detection feature.
- Health Features: Blood-oxygen sensing not expected due to patent issues; Hypertension detection delayed.
Other Products:
- Macs: Full transition to M4 chips with updates expected later this year.
- iPhone SE: New model with OLED display, edge-to-edge screen, expected in 2025.
- AirTag: New version in development for 2025 release.
- iPads: Upgraded mini version anticipated for an October launch.

Should be a good Monday. No way it's going to be worth upgrading from 15 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max unless you can sell for a decent price.
