Apple Unveils iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max with Larger Displays

Apple has introduced the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, featuring the largest displays ever on an iPhone.
The iPhone 16 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch screen, while the Pro Max boasts a 6.9-inch display, both equipped with ProMotion technology, Always-On display, and the latest Ceramic Shield for added durability. These models also feature the thinnest borders seen on any Apple product to date.

Both models are constructed with Grade 5 Titanium, offering increased strength and a new micro-blasted texture for a refined finish. The devices are available in four finishes: black, white, natural titanium, and a new desert titanium that resembles a subtle rose gold hue.
The iPhone 16 Pro series also includes a larger battery, delivering the best battery life of any iPhone to date, ensuring users can stay connected longer throughout the day.
Powering the new Pro models is the A18 Pro chip, the first to use advanced 3nm technology. It features a 16-core Neural Engine capable of performing 35 trillion operations per second, providing 17% more memory bandwidth. Apple says it’s the fastest CPU in a smartphone.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max feature a powerful new photography system, highlighted by the 48MP Fusion camera with a second-generation quad-pixel sensor and a new 48MP ultra-wide camera, enhancing detail and dynamic range in every shot.
The Pro smartphones also include a 5x telephoto lens with Tetraprism technology, bringing the same zoom capabilities as last year to both models. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro now gains three new cameras, aligning with the advanced camera setup previously exclusive to the Pro Max. Sorry if you bought the iPhone 15 Pro last year.
Also, the new Camera Control button will receive an update featuring a two-stage button, similar to a DSLR, allowing for more precise and intuitive camera operation.
For video, you now have 4K 120fps for pro video, which supports video and slo-mo. Complementing this is a new audio setup featuring four studio-quality microphones designed for capturing vocal and acoustic recordings.
Spatial Audio capture is also supported during video recordings, providing an audio experience compatible with AirPods and Apple Vision Pro.
A standout addition is the new Audio Mix feature, powered by AI and machine learning, which separates background elements from speech to enhance audio quality. The In-frame Mix isolates on-screen audio, while the Studio Mix eliminates reverb, emulating a professional studio environment. The Cinematic Mix treats voices and environmental noises with movie-like quality, blending them into a surround sound experience.
Later this year, Voice Memos will also receive a significant update, allowing users to layer additional tracks over existing recordings with a simple tap. Who’s actually going to use this feature though?
…developing, refresh for updates
