Eve Systems has launched the Matter version of its Eve Light Switch, available in Canada for $69.95.
The new switch allows direct control via iOS 18 from iPhone 15 Pro and all models of iPhone 16 without the need for a home hub, making it a first in its category.
The Eve Light Switch brings connected lighting without the need to change existing bulbs. It is compatible with single-pole or 3-way switches and fits into existing frames and decors. The device uses Matter-over-Thread technology, making it compatible with various platforms, including iPhone, Android, Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant.
“Everything that makes a smart light switch is combined here: A timeless design, future-proof Matter and Thread technology and the choice between smart and conventional operation at any time,” said Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve Systems, in a statement to iPhone in Canada.
The Eve Light Switch supports remote access, voice control, and automation through home hubs and compatible apps, offering versatile control options. You can set on-device schedules in the Eve app for iOS and iPadOS, putting lights on autopilot without the need for a device or internet connection.
The Matter version of the Eve Light Switch is available through the Eve store and Amazon. Owners of the third-generation Eve Light Switch can upgrade to Matter with a free firmware update via the Eve app.
