Sonos Releases New App Updates for iOS and Android
Sonos has announced updates to its app, with the iOS version available today, September 19, and the Android update scheduled for Tuesday, September 24.
The updates bring a range of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience, as part of Sonos’ attempt to fix its new app which has been plagued with issues.
The iOS update, version 80.09.05, includes improvements to the setup process, the option to switch between light mode, dark mode, or system default appearance, better queue management, and performance enhancements in browsing content. It also adds Trueplay support for iOS 18.

- Improvements to setup flow
- Added ability to set appearance between light mode/dark mode/system default
- Improved queue management including ability to reorder, delete individual items, and scroll
- Improved performance when browsing content in Home and in Browse
- Continued improvements to user interface
- Added Trueplay support for iOS 18
For Android users, the update will feature similar improvements, including the ability to change the Alexa wake word language.

The iOS update is being released ahead of the iPhone 16 launch, while the Android version was delayed to September 24 to accommodate additional fixes. Both updates will roll out gradually to users over the coming days, said Sonos to iPhone in Canada via email.
