Roku has launched the 2024 Roku Ultra, which it is calling its most advanced streaming player yet, which includes a remote with new backlit buttons.
The 2024 Roku Ultra gets a new quad-core processor, offering a 30% boost in speed compared to previous models. It supports 4K streaming, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos.
Wi-Fi performance has also been enhanced with Wi-Fi 6, while an Ethernet port is also available. Key features include advanced machine learning, allowing the device to predict which app you’ll open next for faster loading.
The new Roku Ultra comes bundled with the Voice Remote Pro (2nd Edition), which offers voice commands, backlit buttons, USB-C charging, and a remote finder feature. It brings Quick Launch shortcuts for easy access to favourite apps and commands (Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Prime Video), and a Live TV Guide button for instant access to over 100 free live channels.

I saw someone post the other day that even this “faster” Roku ultra is only about 10% the speed of the Apple TV. It’s literally over 1000% faster! No wonder the interface is so laggy!
