George Clooney, Brad Pitt’s ‘Wolfs’ Breaks Apple TV+ Streaming Records

Directed by Jon Watts and starring Hollywood heavyweights George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Wolfs has set a new record as the most-watched movie in Apple TV+ history.

Although Apple does not disclose exact streaming numbers, the platform experienced an impressive 30% increase in viewership just one week after the film’s release, according to Deadline.

Wolfs, which premiered the movie on September 27, 2024 across more than 100 countries, saw viewership surge in several key regions, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, and Germany. These countries contributed significantly to the film’s rapid rise in popularity.

Wolfs features Clooney and Pitt as “fixers”—mysterious problem-solvers for the wealthy elite. The two characters, used to working solo, are forced to team up to tackle a particularly challenging case, leading to tense and exciting interactions.

Originally, Wolfs was slated for a wider theatrical release, but the distribution plan shifted to a limited, one-week run in theaters before its debut on Apple TV+. The film had its world premiere at the prestigious Venice Film Festival, generating buzz well before its streaming release.

Apple executives are thrilled with the outcome, and Matt Dentler, head of features at Apple Original Films, expressed the company’s excitement: “When George, Brad, and Jon approached us with the idea for Wolfs, it was an easy decision. Audiences have embraced it in a way that’s made it a global blockbuster.”

The company has already signed Jon Watts to direct a sequel, further capitalizing on the film’s popularity.

In addition to the success of Wolfs, Apple TV+ has more exciting projects lined up. Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen’s upcoming film, Blitz, is set to release in select theaters on November 1, 2024, before making its global streaming debut on November 22.

Furthermore, Apple has high hopes for the Formula One car racing drama F1, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, F1 is scheduled for a wide theatrical release on June 25, 2025.
