Alleged iPhone SE 4 Specs and Features Leak: Report

Apple’s rumoured iPhone SE 4 refresh will bring a new design and a specs upgrade, as expected. But now we’re hearing of some more specific details, according to sources speaking to 9to5Mac.

The iPhone SE 4 will look like the iPhone 14, with flat sides and a notch at the top. It will have a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1170 x 2532 pixels.

Apple is replacing the Home Button and Touch ID with Face ID for the iPhone SE 4. However, it won’t feature the Dynamic Island, which remains exclusive to newer models. Expect Lighting to disappear in favour of USB-C as well.

As for performance, the iPhone SE 4 will be powered by the A18 chip with 8GB of RAM—the same variant found in the base iPhone 16 models. This means it will have enough memory to support Apple Intelligence features.

The iPhone SE 4 cameras will have a 48MP wide camera and a 12MP front camera, similar to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. No ultra-wide or telephoto lenses will be available, but the 48MP wide camera will have 2x optical zoom.

One major feature is that the iPhone SE 4 will debut Apple’s first in-house 5G modem, codenamed “Centauri.” This modem will handle not only cellular connectivity but also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The modem is expected to minimize battery consumption, especially when Low Power Mode is enabled.

When will the iPhone SE 4 debut? Many expect an announcement in spring of next year.

The iPhone SE starts at $579 CAD in Canada, but analysts predict that the update will see a price increase, between $459 US ($622 CAD) and $499 US ($676 CAD). In Canada, if the price increase does jump, we may see the iPhone SE top $600 or so here.
