Earlier this week, Apple teased its first scripted film for its Vision Pro headset, titled Submerged, which officially launches today.
Submerged was written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Edward Berger. The film showcases Apple’s new immersive format, which utilizes ultra-high-resolution 3D video and Spatial Audio to bring a pretty unique viewing experience, if you can afford it (Vision Pro starts at an eye-popping $4,999 in Canada).
In addition to Submerged, Apple announced a lineup of new immersive episodes, films, series, and concerts. Check them out below:
“Apple Immersive Video allows Apple Vision Pro users around the world to experience the next generation of sports, documentaries, and music performances. With Submerged, an immersive film from visionary director Edward Berger, we’re excited to premiere the next generation of narrative filmmaking,” said Tor Myhren, Apple’s vice president of Marketing Communications, in a statement on Thursday.
Apple says customers in Australia, Canada, China mainland, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the U.K., and the U.S. can get to see an extended preview of Submerged upon request at Apple Stores, starting on Monday, October 14.
