iPhone 16 Pro vs. iPhone 12-15 Pro: Ultimate Camera Test [VIDEO]

In a recently published YouTube video, content creator Ammar Ajjoub pits Apple’s new iPhone 16 Pro against the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro in a comprehensive photography and videography comparison.

The video conducts a blind camera test to see how the new iPhone 16 Pro stacks up against the past four generations of ‘Pro’ iPhones “so you can see for yourself if the upgrade is actually worth it or not.”

As part of the test, Ajjoub compared the photo and video capabilities of the iPhone 16 Pro and its four predecessors, looking at everything from the primary Wide-angle lens to the Ultra-Wide sensor and even the Telephoto lens. The presented images and videos, captured in different lighting conditions both indoors and outdoors, show off the point-and-shoot prowess of the five latest generations of Apple’s top-end iPhone.

Ajjoub even included sample photos captured in Portrait mode, Night mode, and with flash turned on. During the video, the YouTuber pointed out some white balance issues with the iPhone 15 Pro and problems focusing under some conditions. He noted that while the iPhone 16 Pro has improved in both areas, these problems aren’t entirely gone.

What’s more, Ajjoub expressed a gripe with the new Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 Pro. In the YouTuber’s experience, trying to press the new side button to capture a photo can shake the whole phone and result in a blurry image, especially while holding the phone vertically. This could be something that improves as you get used to the new button, but it’s worth mentioning nonetheless.

Ajjoub’s video doesn’t present a concrete conclusion. Instead, it invites the viewer to see for themselves how much the Pro iPhone has improved over recent generations and decide which one they like best in terms of camera quality. You can check out the full camera comparison below:
