Kensington Launches Thunderbolt 4 Dock with Multi-Monitor Support for MacBook

Kensington has announced its new SD5900T EQ Thunderbolt 4 Quad 4K 40Gbps Dock, featuring DisplayLink technology, supporting up to four external monitors for MacBook.

The new dock is designed for professionals and creators who require more real estate from their display than what’s provided by their stock MacBook. Using the Thunderbolt 4 dock, users can connect up to four 4K @ 60fps external displays. The dock also supports an impressive range of transfer speeds for files and charging capabilities.

According to Kensington, the new SD5900T EQ Thunderbolt 4 Quad 4K 40Gbps Dock is compatible with the M1 series and above MacBooks with Pro and Max chipsets. For those running a M3 base chipset, the dock functions with the laptop lid closed. Triple 4K @ 60Hz support is available for base M1 and M2 chipsets. The dock also offers two Thunderbolt downstream and one DisplayPort for use. All devices must be running macOS 11.

On top of its impressive display support, the new Kensington dock offers transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps. Across data, video, audio, and photos, the dock utilizes Thunderbolt and DisplayLink tech to daisy chain support for SSDs, monitors, and other Thunderbolt devices. The dock also supports up to 100W charging across connected accessories like iPhone, AirPod, and Apple Watch.

Across the design, which mimics the Midnight Blue aesthetic of the latest MacBook, Kensington built in 16 connection outputs including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps, one USB-A 3.2 Gen2, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1, two HDM/DisplayPort, one DisplayPort, one 3.4mm combination audio jack, one SD card reader, one MicroSD card reader, and one 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.

Kensington’s SD5900T EQ Thunderbolt 4 Quad 4K 40Gbps Dock is available now.
