Apple Music Introduces Set List Playlists to Promote Artists

Apple Music has introduced a new ‘Set List’ feature for artists aimed at helping them connect with their fans on the platform and promote their upcoming concerts.

Apple Music for Artists

The feature allow artists to turn the set lists from their live shows into shareable playlists on Apple Music. These playlists can then be promoted on social media platforms, giving fans the chance to relive concert moments.

To get started, artists must have their official artist image uploaded to Apple Music for Artists, as this will serve as the cover art for the Set List. If an image isn’t already available, the platform offers guidelines on how to upload one.

A key part of creating Set Lists is integrating the artist’s Apple Music page with Bandsintown, a popular concert listing platform. By connecting the two, artists can automatically sync their tour and concert dates, making it easier to generate and update Set Lists.

Once linked, artists will see their upcoming events automatically appear when setting up a new Set List. If the event doesn’t show up, they can manually enter details such as the location and date.

Setting up a Set List is a straightforward process. Artists need to navigate to the Artist Playlists section within the Apple Music for Artists platform and click the “Create a Set List” button. From there, they can select the type of show—whether it’s a concert, tour, or residency—and add the event name and details.

Once the event information is added, artists can search for the tracks they performed by song name or by pasting an Apple Music link. After organizing the tracks in the correct order, the Set List is ready to be published.

The Set Lists will also appear on Shazam, further expanding the artist’s reach. Fans can discover these playlists on the artist’s Shazam page, events pages within the Shazam app, and on Shazam.com.
