Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is Now Available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Today, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 finally hits Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Following the long road paved by Microsoft’s $69 billion USD acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it all led to the moment Xbox integrated Call of Duty into the service on launch day.

The latest installment in the blockbuster franchise is now available to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Today’s launch covers the game’s availability across consoles, PC, and even Xbox Cloud Gaming. Joining Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on the cloud are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone which are also now available today.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 takes place in the 1990s around the Gulf War conflict. Rogue operatives Troy Marshall and Frank Woods attempt to stop Pantheon after it infiltrated the CIA. The operative team must move fast and agile to stop the organization before a global catastrophe. Developed by Activision Blizzard studio Treyarch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 also introduces a brand new multiplayer suite and the return of the traditional Zombies mode.

The launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of the largest for Xbox Game Pass. Ever since the subscription’s inception, Xbox has continuously attempted to build out its catalogue of games, adding value to the growing service. While Xbox Game Pass has seen high-profile day-one launches like Halo Infinite and Starfield, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a whole other beast.

Naturally, having Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass will negatively impact game sales. So much so that it’s believed up to six million lost sales is a possibility, according to GamesIndustry.biz However, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter believes that the launch could provide a major uptick in subscribers. So much so that Pachter estimates three to four million players could subscribe to Xbox Game Pass to access the title. However, Ampere games analyst Piers Harding-Rolls believes that new sign-ups may be a little lower, hovering around a 10 percent increase (2.5 million).

On top of the launch of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available to purchase on Xbox consoles as well as PC and PlayStation.
