How to Use Writing Tools with Apple Intelligence [VIDEO]
Apple has introduced a suite of new Writing Tools powered by Apple Intelligence, available now on devices running iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1.

These tools aim to simplify proofreading, rewriting, and summarizing text, ensuring your writing is clear, concise, and polished. In a new support video published on YouTube, Apple has detailed how these Writing Tools work.
Proofread Text
To start, highlight the text you want to review, tap the Forward button, and select Writing Tools. From there, choose the Proofread option. Apple Intelligence will immediately scan your text and underline any detected errors with a glowing line.
Rewrite Text
To use the Rewrite function, highlight the text, tap the Forward button, and select Writing Tools. Then, tap Rewrite to get an alternative version of your text. You can further refine the tone by choosing from Friendly, Professional, or Concise options.
Summarize and Organize Text
To summarize, select the text, tap the Forward button, and choose Writing Tools. You’ll see several options:
- Tap Summarize to create a short summary of the selected text.
- Choose Key Points to generate a bulleted list of the most important ideas.
- For more structured information, tap List or Table to organize the original text.
