Apple’s Journal app offers users a seamless way to document their thoughts and experiences. To ensure these entries are preserved, it’s essential to know how to export, back up, and print them directly from your iPhone.

Here’s a quick guide to managing your journal entries effectively.

Printing Journal Entries

  1. Open the Journal app on your iPhone.
  2. Navigate to the desired entry.
  3. Tap the More Options button (typically represented by three dots).
  4. Select Print.
  5. Choose your printing options and tap Print to finalize.

Exporting Journal Entries as PDFs

  1. Open the Journal app.
  2. Tap the More button.
  3. Select Print.
  4. Choose All Entries or define a date range.
  5. In the print preview, tap the Share button.
  6. Pick an application to save or share the PDF.

Backing Up Journal Entries

  1. Connect your iPhone to a computer using a USB cable.
  2. Open Finder (on macOS Catalina and later) or iTunes (on earlier macOS versions or Windows).
  3. Select your iPhone from the list of devices.
  4. In the Backups section, check the box for Encrypt local backup.
  5. Set a password for the encrypted backup. Ensure you remember this password, as it will be required for future backups and restores.
  6. Click Back Up Now to initiate the backup process.
