Resident Evil 2 Launches on iPhone and iPad December 10

Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake is launching on iPhone and iPad next month. Soon, those with an iPhone 15 Pro or newer device or running an M1 iPad or later can jump into the critically acclaimed survival horror game on December 10th.
Resident Evil 2 was first released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in 2019. The game is a faithful remake of the original 1998 Resident Evil 2. Capcom took many liberties to modernize and refine the gameplay experience while maintaining the core story that fans know and love. Playing as Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, survive in the streets of Raccoon City during the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse caused by the T-virus.
Capcom has been an avid supporter of Apple’s AAA gaming initiative. Since introducing the A17 Pro chipset on iPhone 15 Pro models, higher-end gaming experiences are now made possible on iPhone. This year, the iPhone 16 introduced the A18 processor, which powers AAA gaming across all models. The same goes for Apple’s M1 iPad and above. Since investing in more powerful chips, Capcom has released the likes of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil 7 Biohazard on Apple’s devices.
On iPhone and iPad, Resident Evil 2 includes a new Auto Fire feature. Players can automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a short time. Players can also use a range of Bluetooth controllers while playing the game. Resident Evil 2 also features cross saves between iPhone, iPad, and Mac once released on December 10th.
Currently, there’s no confirmation on how much Resident Evil 2 will cost in Canada. However, Resident Evil 7 costs $29 CAD, making a good barometer for where the upcoming survival horror game may land once available.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Apple’s fledging AAA gaming initiative may not be equating to high sales. Reports indicate that at the time, Resident Evil 7 only earned Capcom around $28,140 USD (roughly $38,000 CAD). Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 are believed to have sold 5,750 and 7,000 copies on iOS, per the earlier report.
