Amazon Opens Massive 1-Million Sq Ft Fulfillment Hub in Cambridge

Amazon recently opened its new fulfillment centre dubbed YHM2, in Cambridge, Ontario.

The facility, covering nearly one million square feet, launched on November 13 with over 250 employees and is designed to support Amazon’s regional operations network.

YHM2 stores and distributes product inventory to Amazon Robotics fulfillment centers across southwestern Ontario. This helps speed up delivery times for customer orders. Cambridge’s strategic location makes it a key part of Amazon’s regional operations, particularly during the busy holiday season.

“YHM2 brings the best of Amazon’s logistics expertise to Cambridge while making the city an important part of how we support our local fulfilment network and offer a leading product selection to customers,” said Greg Clutton, YHM2 Site Lead, in a statement. “We are proud to be creating good jobs while making important contributions to the local community.”

The site offers employees opportunities for skills training and career growth, including certifications for technologies like forklifts. Amazon’s Career Choice program also allows eligible employees to access paid training in fields such as transportation, technology, and business services. The company covers up to 95% of tuition costs for these programs, which have enrolled over 8,000 employees in Canada.
