Here’s a closer look at what’s new:
Smarter AI with Gemini Updates
The Gemini AI suite introduces advanced capabilities on Pixel devices. Gemini Advanced now offers a “Saved Info” feature that remembers user preferences, such as dietary choices, to provide more tailored assistance.
Additionally, users can integrate Gemini with apps like Spotify, Maps, and smart home devices, allowing seamless control and interaction. The Gemini Nano powers features like Call Screen, providing contextual auto-replies and live transcription for calls, ensuring users never miss important details.
Enhanced Camera and Media Tools
Google’s new updates make capturing and sharing moments easier. Features like Night Sight Timelapse, available on Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, enable vivid low-light photography and video recording.
Dual Screen functionality for the Pixel Fold lets both photographer and subject preview shots simultaneously, ensuring perfect captures. The Made You Look tool, now available on the first-generation Pixel Fold, offers animations for more engaging photos. Sharing options are also expanded, with Pixel Studio stickers now integrated into Gboard for wider accessibility.
Productivity and Organization Boosts
Pixel’s Screenshot tools now include automatic categorization and smart search filters to streamline finding saved content. Suggested actions like calendar invites or navigation directions from saved screenshots add an extra layer of utility.
For navigation, the new Simple View increases font size and touch sensitivity, making the interface more accessible.
Advanced Security Features
Google enhances security with the Identity Check beta, requiring biometric authentication for sensitive setting changes in unfamiliar locations. Additionally, Pixel Watch expands its health and safety suite, introducing Loss of Pulse detection in Germany and Portugal, alongside
Fall Detection and Car Crash Detection in more regions. These features aim to provide users with peace of mind during emergencies.
Broader Device Integration
Pixel Tablet users gain spatial audio for immersive sound and Clear Calling for improved audio during conversations. On the smartwatch front, Nest Doorbell integration allows users to view and interact with live feeds directly from their Pixel Watch, adding convenience and security.

The December Pixel Drop, as well as new Android features, begins rolling out today.
