Koodo Tempts Public Mobile Users with $20 Switch Plan, Free Phone [Update]
If you’re a Public Mobile customer, you may want to check your email or spam folder for a switcher offer from sister company Koodo and parent company Telus.
Public Mobile sent out emails yesterday to select customers, offering them special deals to switch over to Koodo and Telus. Special promo codes were provided to be referenced when calling in to switch.
The email subject line is “Koodo VIP offer: for Public Mobile customers only”. Oh baby.
“Koodo’s rolling out the red carpet for Public Mobile customers,” reads the email, which adds a call to action of “switch today”.
Here are the details according to screenshots shared on RFD:
- Promo code KP2PS24FE: Samsung S24 FE for free; pay $0 upfront, $0/month, with minimum $40 plan. This was offered by Koodo recently during Black Friday
- Bring your own device with code KP2P35: $35/40GB 5G plan with Koodo
Telus Bring your own device with code KP2P35: $20/30GB 4G plan with Koodo- Bring your own device with code KP2P25: $25/12GB 4G plan with Koodo
Customers are told to call 1-833-881-8878 if they want to switch over.
Since Public Mobile is a prepaid service, moving customers over to a postpaid plan with Koodo and Telus is more valuable. Why? Well, those postpaid customers can be subject to price increases easier, whereas prepaid plans are locked in.
Did you get any emails from Public Mobile offering you plans to switch over to Koodo and Telus?
Update Dec. 5, 2024: Telus reached out to clarify the $20/30GB plan is not available to Public Mobile customers, while the $35/40GB 5G plan is with Koodo only.
