Fly Me to the Moon Now Available to Stream on Apple TV+

Apple has debuted Fly Me to the Moon on Apple TV+ after its theatrical debut earlier this year. The film stars Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum in a comedic drama set around the space race in the 1960s.
Fly Me to the Moon is based on a story by Keenan Flynn and Bill Kirstein. The film revolves around Johansson’s character Kelly Jones, a marketing specialist and Tatum’s Cole Davis, a NASA launch director. Centred on the Apollo 11 mission, Jones and Davis are tasked with producing a fake moon landing in the event the actual mission fails.
“Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, Fly Me to the Moon is a sharp, stylish comedy-drama set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing,” the film’s description reads. “Brought in to fix NASA’s public image, sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson) wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis’ (Tatum) already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup and the countdown truly begins.”
The film also stars Jim Rash, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodel, Christian Zubar, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson.
The film originally premiered on July 8th at AMC Lincoln Square ahead of its theatrical run on July 12. Originally, Fly Me to the Moon was envisioned to be a streaming-exclusive film on Apple TV+. Following early positive reception during screenings, Fly Me to the Moon was then brought to theatrical screens. The film then went on to gross $42 million USD (roughly $59.2 CAD) at the worldwide box office.
Apple TV+ is available in Canada for $12.99 per month.
