Apple Spotlights “Genmoji” with a Fun New Ad [VIDEO]
Apple is taking personalization to the next level with the introduction of Genmoji, a groundbreaking feature unveiled in its latest ad, Imagine It. Genmoji It.

The latest Apple ad follows the release of iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, which bring a slew of new capabilities powered by Apple Intelligence.
For those who aren’t familiar, Genmoji allows users to craft custom emoji characters by simply describing them through the device’s emoji keyboard. Users can generate playful, unique emojis, such as a “goose wearing a top hat,” by typing a description.
Options for personalization are vast, as users can incorporate images from their photo library, enabling the creation of emojis inspired by friends, family, or favorite themes. These creations can then be customized further with accessories or specific activities, adding a personal touch to conversations.
Creating a Genmoji is straightforward:
- Open the emoji keyboard in Messages or any compatible app.
- Tap the Genmoji button and describe your desired emoji, such as “a cat playing the piano.”
- Choose from multiple generated options.
- Add accessories or thematic elements for a unique touch.
Once complete, the Genmoji can be added inline to a message, used as a sticker, or sent as a Tapback reaction. The feature is available exclusively on devices with Apple Intelligence compatibility, including iPhone 15 Pro models and later, as well as iPads with M1 chips or newer.

You download this app and AI generated genmojis come at a cost. You get…count'em…one freebie, after that, $3.95/month to use it.
OIt’s not an app, it’s integral part of the keyboard (in the emoji section). I don’t think there is a charge for it.
Thanks, I will have to look more into it. I read you had to download the app, so I did and created one then it asked to subscribe (for a fee).
I'll dig deeper, thanks again.
There is an Apple Support short on YouTube that explains it in just a couple of minutes. Just search there for: TkFFD2whcBk
Thanks again Leon, you were right, the video helped.
No Genmoji on Macs yet. Well, you can create one on your iPhone and then it will appear as an option on your Mac, but you can actually "Gen" a Genmoji on your Mac.
