Astro Bot Wins ‘Game of the Year’ 2024 at The Game Awards

The Game Award 2024 were held in Los Angeles this week, giving way to a night of celebrations for the gaming industry. The annual award show doled out awards to some of the biggest and largest games released this year. Additionally, the night gave way to many exciting announcements.

This year, there were certainly two frontrunners for awards. The game that swept the hearts of players and took away ‘Game of the Year’ during The Game Awards 2024 was Team Asobi’s Astro Bot. A love letter to 3D platformers, Astro Bot released earlier this year on PlayStation 5. With genre-defining level construction and a bevy of cameos from PlayStation’s history, Astro Bot became a critical darling. In total, the game walked away with four awards. Other notable nominees that won during the evening include Metaphor: ReFantazio and Balatro, winning three awards.

Throughout the night, The Game Awards 2024 also hosted many announcements, including the debut trailer for The Witcher IV from CD Projekt Red and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog.
