Walmart Extends Gift Card Deal on Rogers, Bell, and Telus Activations

Walmart Wireless offered a gift card promo during Boxing Day offering those activating a bring your own device (BYOD) wireless plan a special bonus.

Anyone activating a plan from Rogers/Fido, Telus/Koodo and Bell/Virgin Plus would get a $50 Walmart store gift card. This bonus has now been extended “indefinitely” according to a reliable insider from RFD.

Here are the eligible BYOD plans by carrier. The $70 activation fee will be waived, credited back to you at $10/month over seven months on your bill:

Rogers:

  • $45/100GB: Unlimited Canada Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)
  • $50/100GB (US Roaming): Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)

Fido:

  • $29/20GB: Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)
  • $34/60GB: Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)

Telus:

  • $45/100GB: Unlimited Canada Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)
  • $55/100GB (US Roaming): Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)

Koodo:

  • $29/20GB: Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)
  • $34/60GB: Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)

Bell:

  • $45/100GB: Unlimited Canada Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)
  • $55/100GB (US Roaming): Unlimited Canada-US Calling, Intl Texting, 1000 Intl Minutes (6 Countries)

Virgin:

January is usually the slowest month of the year when it comes to sales, as people are typically tapped out from Christmas and holiday shopping, on top of Black Friday. Extending this gift card promo is yet another way to get people to sign up or switch over to a new BYOD plan.
