New Ring Features: 2K Video and Vehicle Detection in Canada

Ring has announced that its Floodlight Cam Wired Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro will soon feature 2K video resolution–for free.
The company told iPhone in Canada its Ring Vision tech powers its video capabilities. This combines advanced hardware, software, and in-house expertise to ensure balanced colour, contrast, and smooth motion, letting you see everything in extreme detail.
The 2K resolution upgrade will be available for free to existing Canadian customers through the Ring app.
Vehicle Detection Feature Rolls Out
Ring is also rolling out a Vehicle Detection feature. This Smart Alert notifies users when a moving vehicle enters the camera’s view. Vehicle Detection is available to those with a Ring Home subscription plan. Essentially, you now can get notified that a car has pulled up, which is always handy to know when you’re away from home.
This feature is rolling out to eligible devices today and will reach all users in the coming weeks. Supported devices include:
- Floodlight Cam Wired Pro
- Spotlight Cam Pro
- Spotlight Cam Plus
- Floodlight Cam Wired Plus
- Pan-Tilt Indoor Camera
- Indoor Camera (2nd Gen)
- Battery Video Doorbell
- Battery Video Doorbell Plus
- Battery Video Doorbell Pro
- Video Doorbell Wired
- Wired Doorbell Pro
It’s always great to see new features being rolled out with software updates. If you own one of the Ring cameras above, let us know when you get these updates.
