WaterField Unveils New Compact Shield Case for Mac mini
San Francisco-based WaterField Designs has just launched its new Shield Case for Mac mini, specifically designed to safeguard Apple’s compact desktop computer during transit.
The case combines durability, functionality, and a sleek professional appearance, making it a must-have for developers, creatives, and professionals on the go. Designed from high-quality materials such as ballistic nylon or waxed canvas paired with full-grain leather, the case ensures a balance of style and resilience.
“Apple’s compact desktop is a favorite among professionals like software developers, video editors, and audio engineers,” said Gary Waterfield, the company’s founder. “Our Shield Case is designed to protect the Mac mini and essential accessories, allowing users to work efficiently wherever they are.”
The Shield Case integrates multiple protective features aimed at keeping the Mac mini safe under various conditions. Key features include:
- Shock-Absorbing Foam Padding: Closed-cell foam encases the Mac mini, distributing impacts and resisting compression.
- Fleece Lining: Scratch-resistant fleece cushions the computer and accessories, ensuring lasting protection.
- Waterproof Zippers: YKK zippers wrap around three sides of the case for easy access and lockability (lock not included).
- Accessory Storage: A plush interior pocket holds the power cord, while an exterior zippered pocket offers space for SD cards, cables, or AirTags. A rear mesh pocket accommodates extra peripherals.
- Durable Materials: Rugged ballistic nylon or waxed canvas combined with leather accents provides a stylish, durable finish.
Weighing only 7.2 oz. for the ballistic nylon model or 8.8 oz. for the waxed canvas option, the Shield Case measures 5.75 x 5.75 x 2.75 inches. It is small yet spacious enough to house essential accessories alongside the Mac mini, ensuring that productivity tools remain organized and accessible.
The Shield Case for Mac mini comes in Brown waxed canvas with distressed chocolate leather, and Black ballistic nylon with black leather accents. It is available for $99 and can be pre-ordered now. Shipping begins on January 21, 2025.
