Alleged iPhone SE 4 Leak Reveals Dynamic Island and More

Apple is widely expected to launch a new iPhone SE sometime this year, and renowned tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) today shared leaks that appear to confirm the device.
According to an external document obtained by Blass, the next iteration of Apple’s entry-level iPhone will be called the “iPhone SE (4th Gen)” — not the “iPhone 16E” as previously rumoured. The same document also mentions an iPad (11th Gen), an iPad Air 11″ (M3), and an iPad Air 13″ (M3), indicating that they may be nearing launch as well.
Interestingly, Blass also shared an alleged image of the iPhone SE 4 that depicts what appears to be a Dynamic Island. This directly contradicts earlier reports that the next iPhone SE would feature a prominent notch at the top instead of the newer, pill-shaped Dynamic Island first introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models. Images featuring purported dummy models of the iPhone SE 4 surfaced online last week, but those leaks didn’t offer a clear view of the device’s front.
Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone SE will supposedly look like the iPhone 14. That should be a significant upgrade over the iPhone SE 3, which launched back in March 2022 with a design that was outdated even at the time. Expected hardware upgrades include a 6.1-inch OLED display (a major step up from the iPhone SE 3’s 4.7-inch LCD), an A18 chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 48MP wide-angle camera with 2x optical zoom.
The iPhone SE 4 will axe the legacy Lightning port for USB-C, and ditch Touch ID in favour of Face ID — whether the hardware for that will be housed within a Dynamic Island or a notch remains unclear, given that the rumour mill has been churning out conflicting reports.
Apple’s next-gen iPhone SE could also be the first iPhone launched with the company’s in-house 5G modem, codenamed “Centauri.” We’ll just have to wait and see to find out, although we might not have to wait long since reports have pegged the iPhone SE 4 for a Spring 2025 launch.
