11th-Generation iPad Expected to Release Spring 2025

The 11th-generation iPad is expected to be released early in 2025. According to a new report, Apple is “deep” into the development of the entry-level tablet.

According to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to launch its 11th-generation iPad early next year with a similar timing as the new iPhone SE 4 and iPad Air. “It will have roughly the same design as the current version from 2022 while getting a speed boost,” Gurman claims in the latest Power On newsletter.

Gurman states that his prediction of 2025’s slate of devices has recently changed. Previously, Gurman believed that the iPhone SE 4 would launch in March 2025 and feature Apple Intelligence. The next entry-level iPad would then gain Apple Intelligence features “later in the year.” However, that may not be the case after all.

To accommodate Apple Intelligence, the 11th-generation iPad would have to feature a substantial upgrade to its chipset. Currently, the 10-generation iPad features the A14 chipset first introduced in the iPhone 12. If the new iPad is expected to support Apple Intelligence, the company at the bare minimum would have to support it with the A17 Pro processor. This alone would pose a significant boost in performance for the new iPad.

Last week, Apple launched the new iPad mini in Canada. Starting at $679, the iPad mini 7 supports the A17 Pro chipset with Apple Intelligence capabilities when made available. The device also offers a base storage capacity of 128GB, USB-C input, sub-6GHz 5G support and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

This week, Apple is planning to make a series of announcements regarding the M4 Mac lineup. We’ll have everything you need to know here on iPhone in Canada when Apple makes its announcements. However, it’s likely that the 11th-generation iPad won’t be touched on this week.
