This is the New Plex Apple TV App That’s Coming Soon

Plex has unveiled a series of updates, including a preview of its redesigned Apple TV app, new community features, and improved benefits for Plex Pass subscribers.
The platform now allows users to write and comment on reviews for their favourite movies and shows. Profiles can also be made public on Plex’s website, enabling users to share their watchlists and activity with others. By default, Plex users are searchable within the app unless privacy settings are adjusted.
Plex is also offering a first look at its reimagined Apple TV app, set to launch later in 2025. The app features improved navigation, enhanced customization options, and richer visuals with expanded artwork. While the app is still in its early stages, users can download the preview and provide feedback starting tomorrow.
The rentals page, for example, is also new. It’s a clean design and looks pretty great:

Also, Plex Pass subscribers can now access HEVC hardware encoding, which delivers better video quality while saving bandwidth. This was first introduced in 2024 as a forum preview and is now available to all Plex Pass holders. Want to try the beta? Click here to do so.
