Apple Launches 2025 Black Unity Collection in Canada and Beyond

Apple has launched its 2025 Black Unity Collection to honour Black History Month and celebrate Black culture and community.

The collection, entering its fifth year, again includes a new Apple Watch band, a custom watch face, and wallpapers for iPhone and iPad, all inspired by the “rhythm of humanity.”

The new Black Unity Sport Loop band for Apple Watch has a cool feature this time around. The band is made with a special pattern that changes colours as you move your wrist. Colours are from the Pan-African flag—black, green, and red—and also shows yellow when the light hits it at a certain angle. Apple says this happens “as if by magic.”

A matching Unity Rhythm watch face uses the same colours. When you raise your wrist to check the time, the watch face shifts from abstract brush strokes into clear numbers. Rhythmic chimes play every hour and half hour.

For iPhone and iPad users, Apple has created Unity Rhythm wallpapers that feature the word “Unity” in a custom design. The word changes orientation when you unlock or lock your device.

The Black Unity Collection was designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple, and it’s a celebration of culture, creativity, and unity, says the iPhone maker.

The watch band is available now on Apple’s website and in stores at $59 in Canada, while the watch face and wallpapers will be released in a future software update, likely iOS 18.3, coming any day now.
