MLS Returns to Apple TV for 30th Season with New Features

Major League Soccer (MLS) is back on Apple TV for its 30th season, and fans in over 100 countries can now subscribe to MLS Season Pass for full access to every game without blackouts.

“MLS Season Pass delivers fans exactly what they want, connecting them with the game they love across all of their devices, with no blackouts,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, in a statement on Wednesday. “Heading into our third year with MLS, we’re excited to continue elevating the fan experience and can’t wait for the season to begin.”

The 2025 MLS season kicks off on February 22, and this is the third year of Apple’s 10-year deal with the league. This season San Diego FC will debut as the league’s 30th team.

New features are also here for 2025, says Apple. Sunday Night Soccer is a new weekly primetime game. The first Sunday night game will take place on February 23, with San Diego FC versus LA Galaxy. This game will also be shown live in Times Square in New York City.

Fans can stream select preseason games for free, including Inter Miami versus Orlando City SC on February 14. Select Apple Stores in Canada will also stream live MLS matches during the MLS is Back weekend, which is February 22-23. MLS MVP Lionel Messi (he’s key to Apple-MLS deal) and Inter Miami CF will host New York City FC.

Also coming is Onside: Major League Soccer, an 8-part documentary which will show behind-the-scenes access to players and teams. Of course this is only going to be on Apple TV+.
