Battlefield Launches ‘BF Labs’ for Feedback on Next Game

Battlefield has announced Battlefield Labs, a new initiative inviting players to help shape the future of the first person shooter franchise.
Fans will have the chance to test early gameplay, provide feedback, and influence development before the next Battlefield game is released. The game first launched with Battlefield 1942 in 2002. When Battlefield 3 launched in 2011 it was seen as Call of Duty’s direct competitor. The last time we saw a Battlefield update was in 2021 with Battlefield 2042.
The Battlefield Studios team, which brings together four global studios with over 20 years of Battlefield experience, is entering a crucial development phase where player input is key. Battlefield Labs will focus on core gameplay elements such as combat, destruction, weapons, vehicles, and squad play. Players will also test classic modes like Conquest and Breakthrough, as well as potential new features.
You can sign up at battlefield.com/labs. The first invites will be limited to a few thousand players in Europe and North America, with more players added over time. Those participating will have to sign an NDA on early testing.
Even if players aren’t part of Battlefield Labs, public updates will be shared by the Battlefield Studios team on Discord and social media.
“This is an unprecedented moment for Battlefield,” the team stated. “Let’s build Battlefield together.” It’s a great idea to get feedback directly from the gaming community.
Montreal-based Motive Studio (owned by Electronic Arts) has been collaborating with other EA studios—DICE, Criterion Games, and Ripple Effect Studios—to develop the next installment in the Battlefield series.
