Nintendo has announced Wario Land 4 will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service just in time for Valentine’s Day. Starting on February 14, the beloved Game Boy Advanced title will be available. “Wario’s back for more… and more… and MORE in Wario Land 4,” Nintendo states on X (formerly Twitter) during its announcement post.
Wario Land 4 is a 2001 Game Boy Advance title, developed by Nintendo R&D1. It’s the fifth game in the Wario Land series (despite its name). Similar to other titles in the series such as Wario Land II and Wario Land 3, the game is a platformer where players have a bit of freedom in how they tackle each level. The game encompasses four main passages to complete, all themed around nature. Each level contains collectibles to find. As Wario explores each level, find a switch to escape.
The game was generally well-received when it first launched. Following its release on Game Boy Advance, the game was then re-released on the Wii U’s Virtual Console in 2014. However, the game hasn’t been accessible on Nintendo Switch.
Wario Land 4 is the latest title to arrive on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Last month, Nintendo added Ridge Racer 64 to the service. In the month prior, closing off 2024, Vectorman, ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Mercs were also added to the service.
A yearly subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is available for $63.99 in Canada. Nintendo also offers a 12-month Family Membership, including up to eight accounts, for $99.99.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack provides subscribers access to a collection of Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, NES, and SNES titles. The subscription service includes premium pieces of DLC like the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass.
