Amazon has announced an expansion of its eero Wi-Fi 7 lineup, introducing new eero 7 and eero Pro 7 routers. These new models promise faster speeds, better reliability, and improved connectivity.
“We’ve continued to innovate and have gone well beyond our first home mesh wifi system—there are tens of millions of eero devices that power homes and businesses across 24 countries. Today, I’m excited for the eero 7 and Pro 7 to join the Max 7 and Outdoor 7 and expand our Wi-Fi 7 portfolio to meet every internet need,” said said Nick Weaver, CEO and co-founder of eero.
The entry eero 7 is designed for regular internet users who rely on Wi-Fi for streaming, studying, and working. This dual-band router supports Wi-Fi 7 technology, delivering wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps and wired speeds up to 2.3 Gbps through its two 2.5 GbE ports. A single unit covers up to 2,000 square feet, while multi-pack options extend coverage for larger homes.
Meanwhile, for those that have high-bandwidth needs, such as gamers, streamers, and work-from-home users, the eero Pro 7 offers next-level speed and reliability. It supports tri-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz), helping reduce network congestion and boosting overall performance.
The Pro 7 delivers wireless speeds up to 3.9 Gbps and wired speeds up to 4.7 Gbps through two 5 GbE ports. It’s designed to handle hundreds of connected devices and multigigabit internet plans.
Both models include Amazon’s TrueMesh, TrueRoam, and TrueChannel technologies, which optimize connections, reduce interference, and improve Wi-Fi performance. They also come with built-in security features, automatic software updates, and support for the latest smart home standards, including Matter, Thread, and Zigbee.
Amazon says eero 7 and Pro 7 are backward compatible with previous eero models, making it easy to upgrade or expand an existing network, while again being all managed in the eero app.
Earlier this year, Amazon debuted the eero Max 7 and the rugged eero Outdoor 7 (more on that coming later) last fall.
When will Canada get the eero 7 and eero 7 Pro? Amazon.ca is showing a February 26 release here for the eero 7. But the eero 7 Pro doesn’t launch until March 26. Pricing is below. Expect to pay a premium for the Pro lineup again (but these usually go on sale during Prime Day and Black Friday):
