How to Customize Your iPhone, iPad Home Screen [VIDEO]

Apple has shared a new support video on its YouTube channel, explaining how you can customize the Home Screen layout on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or higher.

Custom Home Screen.

Starting in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, you can put your apps and widgets right where you want them. You can also give supported apps and widgets a dark look, change their appearance dynamically, or apply a tint to supported apps that matches your wallpaper.

Simply follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Home Screen.
  2. Touch and hold the Home Screen background until the icons begin to jiggle.
  3. Tap Edit at the top of the screen, then choose Customize.

Now you can do any of the following:

  • Make the icons bigger: Tap Large. (In large size, the names of the apps disappear.)
  • Choose a dark or light appearance for icons and widgets: Tap Dark or Light. To show icons and widgets with a dark appearance at night and a light appearance during the day, tap Automatic.
  • Add a color tint to icons and widgets: Tap Tinted. Use the sliders to choose the color and saturation. You can also use the eyedropper to select a color in your wallpaper for icons.
