Digital Shiny Pokémon Arrive in Pokémon TCG Pocket’s New Expansion

The Pokémon Company has announced a significant update to the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket (Pokémon TCG Pocket), introducing Shiny Pokémon through the new Shining Revelry booster pack.

This expansion is set to launch on March 27, 2025, and aims to enhance the digital card-collecting experience for players worldwide.

Shiny Pokémon, distinguished by their unique color variations, have been a coveted aspect of the Pokémon franchise. With the Shining Revelry booster pack, players can now obtain digital Shiny Pokémon cards, including fan favorites like Charizard ex, Lucario ex, and Pachirisu. These cards feature a sparkling effect when tilted, adding a new visual dimension to the digital format.

Beyond Shiny Pokémon, the Shining Revelry expansion incorporates characters from the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games. Notable additions include illustrations of Tatsugiri, Sprigatito, and the Trainer Iono.

To commemorate the launch of Shining Revelry, Pokémon TCG Pocket will introduce new ex Starter Deck missions. From March 27 to April 26, 2025, players can complete in-game missions to earn a deck ticket. This ticket can be exchanged for one of nine starter decks, each adding 20 new cards to the player’s collection.

Starting March 27, 2025, players can also compete against others of similar skill levels globally. The first season will run until April 26, 2025, and participants will receive emblems based on their end-of-season rank, which can be displayed on their player profiles.

In response to community feedback, the developers plan to overhaul the existing trade system by replacing Trade Tokens with a new currency called “shinedust.” This change, expected by the end of autumn 2025, aims to simplify and improve the trading experience within the game.
