Apple’s M2 MacBook Air Cut to $899, Get One Before They’re Gone

Apple’s M2 MacBook Air has been slashed down to $899 on Amazon.ca, which is an all-time low for the laptop.

The M2 MacBook Air, released in 2022, has a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and model shown has 16GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, powered by its 5nm M2 chip. It offers a solid balance of performance and efficiency, with up to 18 hours of battery life, a 1080p webcam, and MagSafe charging

Compared to the M3 (2024) and M4 (2025) versions, it lacks the performance boosts of their 3nm chips— the M3 is about 17-21% faster in CPU tasks and 15% in GPU, while the M4 pushes further with a 10-core CPU and up to 25-30% gains over the M3.

The M2 also misses out on dual external display support (introduced with M3 in clamshell mode and enhanced with M4 to work with the lid open), Wi-Fi 6E (upgraded from Wi-Fi 6 in M3 and M4), and the M4’s 12MP Center Stage camera.

But at $899, who cares if you’re a student or someone who needs a solid laptop for light tasks. We previously told you about Costco selling the M2 MacBook Air for $899, but that deal is no longer available.
